Overview

If you're seeking an authentic Indian dining experience in Austin, Panjabi Swag is a hidden gem worth discovering. Nestled inconspicuously inside a local convenience store on Harmon Avenue, this spot surprises visitors with its vibrant flavors and warm hospitality. Despite its modest exterior, Panjabi Swag delivers dishes that represent the heart of Punjabi cuisine with both depth and freshness.

The menu stands out with classics like Aloo Gobi, Vegetable Samosas, and the richly flavored Garlic Naan and Peshwari Naan. These highlight the kitchen’s dedication to authentic, home-style Indian cooking. Their biryanis offer a fragrant, layered experience—whether it’s the vegetarian egg biryani or the tender chicken variants, each plate arrives accompanied by cool raita, balancing the intense spices.

For those craving heartier fare, options such as Chole Bhature and Paneer Butter Masala offer comforting, robust flavors, ideal for sharing or solo indulgence. Shawarma wraps and rolls add a fusion twist, providing a modern take that still respects traditional spices and preparations.

The space itself is casual and unpretentious with limited shaded outdoor seating, making it a cozy choice for casual lunches or small gatherings. The staff’s attentiveness reflects the community-oriented spirit of the owners, who personally engage with guests, enhancing the overall customer experience.

Absolutely Amazing Catering Experience! I ordered food from Punjabi Swag Restaurant for my housewarming function, catering to over 90 people — and I must say, they truly exceeded my expectations! The quantity was more than sufficient, easily enough for an extra 20 people. The food was delivered hot and exactly on time, which is so important for any event. Every dish we ordered — Butter Paneer, Dal Makhni, Garlic Naan, Paneer Veg Biryani, and Mix Veg — was absolutely delicious. The taste was authentic and rich, and my guests couldn’t stop complimenting the food. What impressed me even more was the cost-effectiveness — I genuinely don't think anyone can beat their prices for the quality and quantity they provide. Punjabi Swag truly made my day special, and I’m incredibly grateful for their service. I highly recommend this restaurant for any of your upcoming functions or events. You won't be disappointed!

My new favorite lunch spot in this area! It's hidden away inside a convenience store (with a door that's ridiculously hard to open). Would never expect to look there, but glad I did. Delicious food with tons of options (vegetarian and non), reasonable prices, and excellent service from the owners. Only (minor) issues were: - plate and packaging were too thin, but the owner said he'd change those up - not a lot of outdoor seating with umbrellas, making it hard to sit there If you work nearby or go to the WeWork, would highly recommend this place.

The staff was very friendly and attentive and the wait was fairly short. The restaurant provides outdoor shaded seating, perfect for parties of 5-6. The food was surprisingly amazing! I had butter chicken, samosas, and their spinach cheese spinach naan and wow the portions were generous and nothing short of delicious. The owner even came by as I was eating to check if everything was good and to ask for feedback. I will definitely be coming back!

Can't recommend enough - great place to get some fresh, flavorful North Indian food. The dhal makhni was out of this world. Food was cooked to order and the wait was worth it. Will absolutely keep going back to this place! The service was top notch.

The staff were so incredibly kind and thoughtful, they were fast and efficient and still felt homely. The food was absolutely amazing, warm and comforting, spicy but not overwhelming, I will definitely be going here again! The food didn't even last long enough to take a picture of.
